De acordo com o ranking internacional Times Higher Education (THE) Impact 2021, a Ufes é a segunda melhor universidade do Brasil e está entre as 200 melhores do mundo. O THE Impact classifica as universidades de acordo com sua contribuição para os 17 Objetivos de Desenvolvimento Sustentável (ODS) da Agenda 2030 da Organização das Nações Unidas (ONU).
A Ufes subiu duas posições em relação às universidades brasileiras na mais recente edição do ranking THE de Impacto (Times Higher Education Impact Rankings), que leva em consideração os Objetivos de Desenvolvimento Sustentável (ODS), divulgado no último dia 12 de junho.
